Read this imortant information below - it's what prompted me to do this:

Chanukah, Oh, Chanukah, come light the...

fire under Republican Senator Orin Hatch of Utah to write and release a Chanukah song?

Ok. That's very nice. A new Chanukah song. Jeff Goldberg of The Atlantic, and the musical collaborator on Hatch's song, was featured on NPR recently and was quoted as saying, "Most Chanukah music is pretty lame." Click here for the NPR story. (BTW, This was brought to my attention by fellow Jewish singer/songwriter/recording artist Beth Schafer in her newsletter. Go to www.bethschafer.com to sign up.)

Friends, there are a lot of contemporary Jewish musicians out there writing good, meaningful, "rocking" Chanukah songs. Me included. I'm very proud of my contribution to the Chanukah music canon, and we worked very hard on putting out a quality product. That's why I want everyone who wants one, to own this song - no charge.

Beth Schafer just put out a new CD called Raise It Up, Bring It Down with the wonderful song Night By Night.

Julie Silver put out a Chanukah CD in 2007 with a great new take on the Dreidle Song.

Check out these other artists, as well, for great Jewish music:

Dan Nichols, Sam Glaser, Sababa, Neal Katz, Doug Cotler, Craig Taubman and many, many more! You can find them all at www.oySongs.com.

It wouldbe a great idea to write to some of these people - like Jeffery Goldberg and NPR - and let them know that we're out there. Send them links, encourge air play, encorage other artists to cover the songs - what ever you can think of!

Here's a link to Jeffery Goldberg http://jeffreygoldberg.theatlantic.com/

The recession may have "turned the corner"

but The Arts (and artists, and nonprofit organ

izations) are still feeling the effects.

This is why I'm announcing my brand new, very radical, completely different, it's almost too good to be true...

   RECESSION SPECIAL!

I'll work with you in any way I can to make a gig happen. You want to bring in an entertainer or artist-in-residence, and I want to play music. It's a perfect match! We can make it happen.

Here's the concept - and it's really pretty simple:

   PAY WHAT YOU CAN

I'm not kidding

That's right! I must be crazy! You tell me what you can

pay (on top of expenses) and I'm sure we can work it out. No haggling, no hidden fees. I'll even barter! You want to pay me with a new guitar? Let's talk! You want to put new tires on my car? Let's talk! You want to pay off my mortgage...OK, you probably don't. But, I'm not kidding. I want to come to your community and play music.

   So let's talk! 216-403-0384
