Well, it's newsletter time again. And how do we know it's newsletter time? Because I say it is, that's how.

Well, I did a stint in a stage play, Brooklyn Boy, got good reviews, small audiences, a snow storm cancelled performance, and the chance to work with some of the finest actors in the area. Had a great time. It's good to get out and do different things. It helps to expand one's creativity. (see my song writing blog)
Purim came and went. My costume was sort of a "two-parter" this time. First you saw the initial costume and then the was, as they say on HGTV, "the reveal" - the punchline, if you will. Even if you won't. Here it is:
If you don't know what "kvetching" means, just go to a Jewish deli, you'll hear some. (Complaining) Now, aren't you glad I didn't show up at your front door?
The schedule becomes a little lighter over the summer. There's still Rock My Soul Shabbat every month, and a couple of smaller local gigs here and there.
The big one coming up, however, is May 31st in Austin, TX, where I'm one of the headliners for "Jewsapalooza," Austin's First Jewish Music Festival.

A blast from the past! Ten years ago this summer I went to my 2nd CAJE conference in San Antonio, TX, the first summer my CD Hallelujah Land was out. Here's a group of Jewish musicians from that conference in 1998. Despite the less than stellar picture quality, how many do you recognize? I'm the one missing the bottom half of my face, front row center.
